Document 3 - The Effects Of Glass And Steel (2010)

Document 3

Abstract, Dubstep, Experimental

BIO - Restless and complex, practical and idealistic, caring and brutal, self-serving and naive - and this is just scratching the surface of the contradictory personality that has fuelled the myth and legend of Document 3. On the one hand there is the temptation to dismiss Document 3 as a frenetic dreamer consumed by the movement and romance of revolutionary electronic music. On the other is an admiration for his total commitment to the utopian belief that he can create sonic soundscapes so conflicting in beauty and brutality, they make the listener cry with the overwhelming feeling of pure bliss.

The Effects of Glass and Steel - Made during, and influenced by, a trip to London.

Influences/background - 28 years old, from Norwich, East Anglia. Been making electronic music for 2 years, using Logic. Influenced mainly by guitar music, Smiths/Joy Division/Radiohead, parents were listening to The Smiths, Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Cocteau Twins as i was growing up. Got into electronic music through KidA/Amenesiac/Prodigy era with a touch of Aphex Twin, Chemical Brothers ad Roni Size thrown in. Currently liking Flying Lotus, Drums of Death, Cloaks, Lukes Anger and anything WARP. Not playing live yet, though this is something i wish to pursue next year.
