Elastic Destruct - Astra (2011)

The new release by Astra, the glitch/logicalbreakz project from St. Petersburg, Elastic Destruct, is primarily music of mood. If you were to look for analogies, the atmosphere of this album mostly resembles a ketamine sunset in Goa. Images whimsically replace each other, as if you're watching a film where the main characters are things, events, landscapes—anything but people. The futurization of reality has always been inherent in Elastic Destruct's work, but in this album, the non-human logic of artificial intelligence and the influence of another mind, which may be different from the human mind but potentially understandable, are especially evident.
